The National Restaurant Association opened its 65th consecutive show in Chicago on Saturday. There were over 1800 exhibitors of every conceivable kind of equipment and food products. Over 50,000 people are expected to attend the show over its four day run.

According to the NRA, the restaurant industry employs over 12.8 million people at 960,000 locations nationwide. Yearly sales are roughly 604 billion dollars.

The show exhibits everything needed to operate restaurants, from the smallest gee gaw to major food production machinery. Many major and small independent manufacturers, growers, and producers exhibited their products at the show.
